I’m Lori Halloway, founder of The Meticulous Manicurist®. For over 32+ years, my mission has been simple: help professionals and people at home understand toenails, solve problems with education, and give them access to the tools and supplies they need to care for their clients, families, and themselves with confidence.

Many people are told to hide their feet, ignore the problem, or accept that nothing can be done. I do not believe that. I believe people deserve clear education, professional tools, and honest guidance.

I have been told many times that certain information should not be taught, shown, or explained. But my first thought is always the same:
“If we do not teach people, who is going to help them?”

After decades behind the table, I understood something many people overlook: nail technicians are often physically sacrificing their bodies to serve others.

Why I Created and Curated My Product Line
I saw people trying to solve toenail problems with tools that were too weak, too sharp, too rough, or simply not made for the job. Education without the right supplies leaves people guessing.
My product recommendations and tools are chosen because they support the routines I teach. They help people clean, trim, file, smooth, soften, and maintain their nails more effectively.
I want people to understand not only what to use, but why they are using it.

From nearly having to end my career, to changing the nail industry.
After my cervical spinal fusion in 2014, I feared I would have to retire from my career as a nail technician. I decided that if I wasn’t able to work, I would live vicariously through others by sharing my knowledge so they could provide the same quality services to others.
To make this happen, I created a YouTube channel known as The Meticulous Manicurist Nail Tutorials. With it, I was able to create videos and share my decades of pedicure and manicure knowledge with the world.
As my channel began to grow, I simultaneously put energy into developing a hand rest for nails in hopes it would save my career. After building the hand rest in my garage, various modifications, patent prep + submission, I finally received my USPTO patent on The Ergo Lift, which went on to save my career.

I support the education, growth, and collaboration of nail technicians and nail lovers all over the world through tutorials. I hope to enrich perception and attitudes to create connections between nail tech and clients, by teaching there is more to this industry than just doing nails.
